Still thoroughly baffled by this move. Shyanne Sellers is like a slightly more talented version of Kate Martin. They both do similar things - jack-of-all trades, can play defense, shoot 3s, rebound, pass, good bball IQ. I'd say Sellers has a better dribble-drive game, better potential to create offense, and she's slightly taller. It would have been nice to have 2 smart, versatile wings. If she's healthy like what her sister says, I don't understand why Sellers was cut this early.
Do we know if the Valks game tomorrow will be televised anywhere?
And I have it set to record on Fubo. I will eventually get WNBA League Pass, but if the NBA League Pass is any guide, I'm guessing blackouts may make it not useful.
Seems like this sort of thing happens somewhat regularly in the W, with draft picks being cut—for medical reasons or otherwise. It makes me wonder how much less these teams are spending on pre-draft scouting and physicals than their NBA counterparts.
Regardless, for a team so desperate for talent, this represents the first instance of outright failure by the front office.
Nakase did not mention the injury in the press availability, so it’s also possible that the knee is healed/healing but Sellers is still not yet at the level where she can make the team.

This says KPIX... I am not sure about League Pass... I'll be there in person.

Sellers must have been totally overmatched in the scrim. No way she gets instantly cut on Day 1 unless it's clear
I am recording it on YouTube tv.

Update of sorts: Shyanne’s sister posted to TikTok: “She’s fully healthy to clear that up!!!!”

Is Celebrini treating the V's? If so you really gotta believe the knee was bad.
Not Celebrini, he has a full time job already 😀. I believe the GSV equivalent is Lorena Torres Ronda.
The medical staff is listed in detail here: https://valkyries.wnba.com/news/golden-state-valkyries-announce-performance-staff-hires-20250425

I'm not seeing an MD listed. So they might be consulting with Celebrini at least.
