It's official now. The 14th WNBA team is the Toronto Tempo. I love the name but not so much the logo.

By my count, this builds a commanding lead in the WNBA for Singular Team Names over Plural Team Names, 8 singulars to 6 plurals.

In contrast, the NBA only has 4 singulars (HEAT, Magic, Jazz, Thunder), so The Singular have a lot of work to do catching up to The Plurals.

Sun hired the coach of the Belgian national team. I’m hoping maybe this’ll pave the way for Emma Meesseman to return (in CON or otherwise). Possibly my favorite women’s bball player.

Jewell Loyd wants out of Seattle, not sure what assets we'd have but that would be a great start to building the team.

Sounds like there wouldn’t be a way for her to stay, actually.

“Jewell Loyd requests trade after Storm investigation comes up empty

Jewell Loyd made headlines Wednesday as well with news she’s requested a trade from the only WNBA team she’s ever played for, the Seattle Storm.

Loyd’s request came hours after the Storm announced that an external investigation into accusations of harassment and bullying by members of the coaching staff had found no violations.

That investigation was initiated following a complaint reportedly made by Loyd, the second-leading scorer in the WNBA since she entered the league in 2015 (5,959 pts including playoffs).

Only Loyd’s former Storm teammate Breanna Stewart, also her Mist teammate-to-be this winter in Unrivaled, has scored more points in the WNBA than Loyd since 2015”

HHS thinks SEA will protect her in the draft anyway to force her next team to trade something for her. Not sure she is worth it to GSV (assuming they plan to lose for 1 or 2 years while they build up) unless she comes cheap
